These are shots from our local ham (jamonería) bar. Here you can get nice tapas of slices of ham or cheese with either wine or beer. That’s it.

A day in my life

Here are a few photos from my day yesterday, visiting the old village, Castellar de la Frontera, with its castle on top of a mountain. A very pretty place just a couple of hours from my house.

Backroads

This time of year the backroads are lined with beautiful flowers … and if it is a road with very little traffic they pop up in the road as well.

The cornverview theme this week is Bridges and backroads. The bridge that did not survive the flood in the Autumn is still in the river and nobody really knows when or if it will be fixed.

My garden

is quite green and alive these days. I think the very wet winter is the reason why.
The last pic is of the four orange trees we planted last year. I noted the name of the trees at the time just to remember the varieties. Now, they are blooming … again, and the navelina to the left has one, not ripe though, fruit on one of its lower branches … but the trees have not really grown in size. Hmm, I’m still not sure it was a good idea to plant these trees. We are learning though.
